Impressarios

I am thinking today about rock and roll impressarios, such as Allen Klein, and how they became so legendary even behind the scenes.

Was thinking particularly about Andrew Loog Oldham and the Rolling Stones but my #1 source of information was unable to help me today.

And so inside my little room

The last pictures I took on campus before I moved in with my brother last week. Particularly liked the water hydrant.

sometimes there are

Belle prière à faire pendant la Messe

Today, I woke early to watch the sun rise. For some reason, my body has never adjusted to the time zone, and I am perpetually early to bed and early to rise, as M. Franklin once put it. It let's me think at least, and it is lovely to see the sky turn pink with the first shades of morning light. I considered photographing it, but the window pane is not quite clean enough for my liking.

I thought today I would leave leave a prayer, once printed on the back of a prayer card with the picture of Saint François d'Assise. It is one I memorised in school, and although I have read it in English, I never remember it.

However, yesterday morning I heard the English hymn in Mass. Wikipedia says that it is the anthem of the Royal British Legion, and that it is sung for the Service for Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall in London. As it is Memorial Day in the United States, I thought it was fitting. There is a lovely duet of the song here.

I once had a dream

This time around I was more interested in taking pictures of somewhat random shapes I see as I walk. That arrow has bothered me for months. It doesn't point to anywhere!

so I packed up and moved to the city )

it is better to be quiet
than to scream in a vacuum
no one will hear you
but at least you'll have your
dignity

whatever happened to my eyes

More pictures, this time taken in late afternoon. Those petunias were in the center of a cul-de-sac and I had to take them quickly before cars came.

the truth is
the simplest answer.
lies are complicated-
goldfish in a plastic cup.
chlorine poison.
"Mommy, why?"
she pauses--
"It was a bad fish.
Go back and swim."

You live your life as if it’s real

I decided that I'd go out and take some close up photographs of whatever was near the path on my way home. The red balloon, too high above me to get a good shot while the wind was blowing, particularly intrigued me. Something about the red against the blue is very beautiful.  Many shots are blurry; I blame the wind.
